Job summary

Cover Whale is expanding regionally and seeks a Business Development Associate to manage a portfolio of partners across multiple western states. This remote role requires Pacific Time availability and occasional early meetings to align with partner needs.

You will collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and development teams to drive distribution and premium growth, oversee partner performance, and provide market insights during quarterly reviews.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in the insurance or MGA sector.
• Experience onboarding and guiding new customers to realize value.
• Strong phone and video communication, maintaining professionalism under pressure.
• Ability to manage a portfolio with prioritization and multitasking.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to discuss technical and business topics with executives.
• Proven ability to communicate, present, and influence at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and development teams to drive distribution and partner premium generation.
• Oversee a portfolio of partners, fostering relationships and growth.
• Provide pipeline support by researching target markets and competitive intelligence.
• Represent Cover Whale in meetings with distribution partners.
• Identify opportunities to engage with current partners and improve onboarding.
