Job summary

BakerHostetler is a national law firm seeking a Billing Supervisor in Finance/Accounting for a remote-friendly role reporting to the Billing and Collections Manager. You will supervise Billing Coordinators to support the firmwide billing practice for Digital Assets and Data Management (DADM) and maintain a manageable assignment load as a working supervisor.

Ideal candidates have at least seven years of legal billing experience, supervisory skills, and strong proficiency in Elite 3E and Microsoft

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a two-year college with at least seven years of related legal billing experience (or an equivalent combo).
• Supervisory experience to organize, coordinate and supervise staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Elite 3E billing software; ability to learn new applications.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced law firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level support to Billing Coordinators on billing questions and issues.
• Conduct regular team meetings to relay information and address concerns.
• Participate in coaching, performance feedback, and reviews for Billing staff.
• Monitor schedules, overtime requests, and timecards in the Firm’s time management system.
• Act as point of contact for secretaries and training needs.
• Assist with development and implementation of billing processes.
• Monitor status of billed matters to ensure due dates are met.
• Audit areas such as WIP, cost credits, negative invoices, and payment applications.
• Other duties as requested.
