Job summary

CoVolt is seeking an ambitious Engineer I - Battery Storage to contribute to utility-scale BESS projects. You will size LV/MV equipment, develop site layouts and work with cross-functional teams to translate client requirements into executable designs and strategies.

You will engage in preconstruction, bidding, and handover activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and value engineering opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of battery storage technology including augmentation strategies, technical terms, safety/clearance requirements, and codes.
• Experience in EPC for power plants or BESS projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Development, Engineering, Scheduling, Estimating, and Operations to align project needs and develop cost and technical strategies.
• Review RFP documents to confirm scope and develop site equipment specifications and layouts; identify risks and clarifications.
• Size and verify sizing of client equipment/designs to ensure codes and regulations are met.
• Support development of RFP deliverables and ensure technical aspects meet client requirements and safety standards.
• Maintain a battery storage database of system requirements and related documentation.
