Job summary

CoVolt Power SE is seeking an Engineer I - Battery Storage to help shape utility-scale BESS projects by combining technical expertise with collaborative teamwork. You will influence design strategies and drive innovative solutions across cross-functional teams to advance renewable energy.

This role serves as the technical resource for sizing LV/MV equipment, site layouts, and translating client RFP requirements into actionable site designs, while preparing safety-focused, profitable execution

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree as listed in the education section.
Strong understanding of battery storage technology including augmentation strategies, technical terms, chemistry, safety/clearance requirements, etc.
Solid knowledge of batteries, coupling strategies, PCS, DCDC Converters, relevant codes and standards, risk management principles.
Experience in power plant EPC; BESS EPC experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with BD, Engineering, Scheduling, Estimating, and Operations to align project needs and create competitive strategies.
Review RFPs to confirm scope, criteria, and layouts; identify risks and clarifications.
Size and verify sizing of equipment to ensure codes and regulations are met.
Support RFP deliverables and ensure technical aspects meet client requirements.
Maintain battery storage database of system requirements (manuals, datasheets, CAD drawings).
Explore value engineering opportunities to deliver client savings.
Advocate for customer goals in pursuit planning and decisions.
