Job summary

Ignition Benefits (YC F26) is seeking an experienced Benefits Account Manager to own client relationships from implementation through renewals. You’ll work remotely with HR and finance leaders at growing companies, ensuring seamless benefit programs and ongoing retention.

You will manage open enrollments, renewals, and billing escalations, collaborating with carriers and vendors while guiding clients through life-cycle decisions and expansions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in employee benefits account management at a brokerage, carrier, PEO or HR tech company.
• Working knowledge of medical, dental, vision, life, disability and ancillary lines.
• Hands-on open enrollment and renewal experience.
• A Life and Health license in good standing (or the ability to get one within 60 days).
• Calm, organized follow-through across many clients at once.
• Clear writing and comfort presenting to HR and finance leaders.
• Comfort with ben admin platforms, CRMs and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Own a book of employer clients as their day-to-day benefits lead.
• Run implementation after a broker of record change, including carrier setup and open enrollment.
• Prepare renewals with data and producers, and present options clients can act on.
• Resolve billing, eligibility and claims escalations with carriers and vendors.
• Answer employee and HR questions quickly and clearly.
• Track service work and client health in Salesforce and flag risk early.
• Spot expansion opportunities and bring them to the producer team.
