Remote Aviation Security Lead

Job summary

NMS in Alaska seeks a Remote Aviation Sergeant to lead security operations at remote client locations, including the Kuparuk Oil Field. You will supervise daily security routines, enforce policies, and maintain communications with clients, employees, and external agencies while aligning with NMS' mission and values.

This role requires five years of security/military experience and supervisory background, plus Alaska licenses and firearms qualifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of full-time security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean record (past 3 years).
• Ability to obtain Alaska Guard License prior to start.
• Ability to obtain Alaska Armed Guard License on hire.
• Experience developing and delivering security training.
• Handgun experience and firearms qualification.
• ATA-103 fuel sampling and quality testing qualification.
• Marshalling, ramp control and runway access control qualification.
• Proficiency with Bowmonk friction-reading equipment.
• Working knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS).
• Eligible for TWIC and ATF credentials.
• MS Office and contract software proficiency.
• Pre-employment tests may include drug testing and medical exams.
• Able to live in a remote camp environment.
• Strong teamwork and sound judgment under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily security operations and personnel at client facilities.
• Assign posts and patrols with proper staffing levels.
• Interpret and enforce security policies and post orders.
• Understand client needs and document processes while managing staffing.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements and documentation.
• Prepare work schedules and review leave requests.
• Maintain communication with clients to address security concerns.
• Review and resolve incident and security reports.
• Maintain records and assist investigations.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders.
• Update post orders and procedures as needed.
• On-call duties during off-hours; assume Incident Command when appropriate.
• Provide transportation using various vehicles as needed.
• Provide emergency medical assistance within training scope.
• Support other operational functions and duties as assigned.
• Monitor safety and sanitation compliance; address deficiencies.
• Mentor and evaluate personnel; ensure performance and accountability.
• Operate vehicles for runway inspection and weight/balance checks.
