Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking an Automotive Robotics Engineer for a remote position with a Curitiba focus. You will design and deliver robotics capabilities for production‑grade automotive systems, including perception, sensor fusion, and autonomy‑adjacent modules.

You’ll work with ROS2, C++, and Python, developing simulation‑first validation loops and robust, safe software. Collaboration with data ops and cross‑functional teams ensures reliable release and operation.

Qualifications

• Mid‑Senior experience in robotics or automotive software engineering.
• Strong C++ and Python; experience with ROS2.
• Understanding of computer vision and sensor fusion fundamentals.
• Experience with simulation, test automation, and performance profiling.
• Familiarity with safety validation concepts and engineering quality processes.
• Comfort working with AI/ML evaluation signals (training data quality, labeling feedback loops).

Responsibilities

• Develop robotics software components using ROS2, C++, and Python for automotive robotics systems.
• Build perception pipelines: camera/LiDAR preprocessing, detection/tracking interfaces, and sensor fusion.
• Implement motion planning and control loops; tune performance for real‑time constraints.
• Create simulation and test harnesses (SIL/HIL) to validate edge cases and regression performance.
• Define data collection and labeling requirements to improve perception model performance.
• Support training data quality initiatives: annotation guidelines compliance, QA evaluation, and dataset audits.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to meet safety validation and release criteria.
• Document architectures, test results, and operational runbooks for deployment and monitoring.
