Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking an Automotive Robotics Engineer to join a remote, full-time role. You will design, implement, and deploy robotics software for manufacturing workflows across global teams, with focus on ROS2, motion planning, and perception.

The position requires mid-senior level expertise in industrial automation robotics and strong skills in C++/Python and ROS2, with experience integrating with ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa, or UR robots. Remote collaboration is supported.

Qualifications

• Mid-Senior level experience in robotics engineering for industrial automation or automotive manufacturing.
• Strong fundamentals in kinematics, dynamics, controls, motion planning, calibration, and state estimation.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python; ROS2 experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robotics software modules (ROS2 nodes, drivers, middleware) for industrial robot applications.
• Implement motion planning and trajectory generation with collision checking, constraints, and cycle-time optimization.
• Develop perception components for robot guidance and inspection using computer vision, calibration, and sensor fusion.
• Integrate robotics systems with PLCs and industrial networks (OPC UA/EtherNet/IP/PROFINET).
• Define acceptance tests and validation plans covering repeatability, accuracy, takt time, fault recovery, and safety behaviors.
• Diagnose field issues using logs, traces, and telemetry; implement robust error handling and recovery.
• Produce engineering documentation: interfaces, configuration management, and change control for production deployments.
