Job summary

GAF seeks a Corporate Automation and Controls Engineer IV to direct control and automation systems across plants. You will troubleshoot production lines, mentor plant controls staff, and lead high-impact projects with technical standards.

Requires a engineering degree and 5+ years of controls experience; Rockwell tools expertise and HMI development are highly valued. This remote role involves significant travel, up to 60%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of controls engineering experience in continuous manufacturing required.
• 10+ years preferred; related seniority welcomed.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
• Proficiency with Rockwell Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FTView, CCW, FTAC.
• Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PowerFlex drives.
• HMI development experience with FTView and Wonderware.
• Experience with production networks, servers, and managed switches.
• Expertise in electrical components, power distribution, PLCs, instrumentation.
• Process control design, installation, and maintenance in continuous processes.
• Ability to tune PID controllers; knowledge of web handling operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary internal resource for control systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant performance.
• Share best practices across the organization.
• Lead and coordinate strategic projects across multiple plants.
• Provide plant support and remote/on-site troubleshooting.
• Develop and enforce team standards for controls.
• Coordinate with controls group and communicate through meetings.
