Job summary

GAF is seeking a Corporate Automation and Controls Engineer IV to provide expert direction for control systems across our manufacturing network. This role focuses on advanced engineering, troubleshooting, and project leadership for multi-plant initiatives.

60% travel required, remote work option within the US. You will mentor plant controls personnel, set technical standards, and drive continuous improvement in automation and data acquisition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of controls engineering in a continuous manufacturing environment.
• 10+ years of controls engineering experience preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Proficiency with Rockwell software - Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FTView, CCW, and FTAC.
• Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PowerFlex drives.
• HMI development experience - FTView and/or Wonderware.
• Experience maintaining production networks and instrumentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross-plant projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary internal engineering resource concerning control systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant performance.
• Share best practices across the organization.
• Lead and facilitate strategic projects that cover multiple plants.
• Lead and facilitate new plants/processes.
• Provide plant support and training for control systems.
• Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting and mentoring to staff.
• Coordinate with controls group to maintain standards.
