Job summary
GAF is seeking a Corporate Automation and Controls Engineer IV to provide technical expertise for control and automation systems across plants. This role troubleshoots production line processes and mentors plant controls staff to elevate troubleshooting and repair skills.
The position emphasizes strategic project development, standard creation, and cross-plant leadership with a 60% travel expectation. A Bachelor’s in engineering and extensive Rockwell experience are required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
- 5+ years in controls engineering in a continuous manufacturing environment.
- 10+ years preferred; travel up to 60%.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Proficiency with Rockwell software and PowerFlex drives.
- HMI development experience with FTView/Wonderware.
- Production networks and PLCs knowledge; PID tuning.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary internal resource for control systems across plants.
- Lead strategic projects and develop/maintain controls standards.
- Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting and training.
- Coordinate with the controls group and cross-plant teams.
