Job summary

GAF is seeking a Corporate Automation and Controls Engineer IV to lead control system projects, mentor plant personnel, and drive technical standards across multiple plants. This role requires deep engineering mastery and strong cross-functional influence.

The position involves 60% travel, extensive use of Rockwell tools (Studio 5000, RSLogix, FTView, CCW) and power electronics experience, with a focus on continuous process manufacturing. A BS in engineering is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
5+ years of controls engineering experience in a continuous manufacturing environment is required.
10+ years of controls engineering experience preferred.
Proficiency with Rockwell Automation software and Allen-Bradley hardware is required.
Experience maintaining production networks, servers, and managed switches is preferred.

Responsibilities

Plant engineering support: act as the primary internal resource for control systems and share best practices across the organization.
Strategic project development: lead and facilitate strategic projects across multiple plants and new processes.
Plant support and troubleshooting: provide remote and onsite troubleshooting and coaching to controls personnel.
Control Group Coordination: coordinate with controls group and maintain knowledge of contemporary technology and standards.
