Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Outside Auto Appraiser to inspect damaged vehicles, estimate repair costs, and determine actual cash value for settlements. The role covers Sarasota/Bradenton, FL with remote work options and travel to customer locations and body shops as needed.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in auto physical damage appraisal, an active adjuster license where applicable, and strong software proficiency.

Qualifications

• Two years of auto physical damage appraisal experience or equivalent
• Active adjuster license, where applicable
• Proficiency with claims management systems and estimating tools
• Strong verbal and written communication and customer-service focus
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Inspect and assess vehicle damage via on-site or virtual inspections at shops or customer locations
• Prepare accurate repair estimates for parts, labor and materials
• Determine actual cash value (ACV) of total losses using market data and valuation tools
• Negotiate repair costs and settlements with body shops and customers
• Coordinate with claim staff, shops and vendors to resolve coverage or repair issues
• Explain appraisal process to insureds and keep them informed throughout the claim lifecycle
• Adapt to new technology and digital tools while maintaining service quality
