Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. is seeking an Associate Director, Business Development for the Integrated Biologics Division.

This role is fully remote with preference for East Coast proximity (MA) and up to 50% travel. You will drive new business growth across Early Development, Mammalian Manufacturing, and Drug Product capabilities, establishing strategic customer relationships and executing a territory growth plan in the US Northeast.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years in biotech/pharma/CDMO with business development or commercial leadership responsibilities.
• Proven track record of securing new business and achieving growth targets in complex sales.
• Strong understanding of biologics drug development, manufacturing and commercialization processes.
• Experience selling CDMO services or related biologics outsourcing solutions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to customers and events.

Responsibilities

• Develop a territory business plan to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
• Identify, engage, and acquire new customer relationships within biotech/pharmaceuticals.
• Build strong relationships with scientific, technical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
• Promote Lonza's biologics capabilities across Early Development, Mammalian Manufacturing, and Drug Product stages.
• Lead customer discussions, proposals, and negotiations to win new business.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Technical Experts, Program Management, and Commercial teams.
• Monitor market trends and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
• Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast information in Salesforce.
