Job summary

SEH is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead all accounting operations, support the annual audit, and partner with the Controller and senior leadership on financial strategy. This role offers remote work across many US states and the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a 100% employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• CPA, Active or Inactive.
• Experience as Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or Controller.
• Experience being part of an annual financial statement audit.
• Broad end-to-end accounting experience (AP, AR, treasury, close, reporting, contract review).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Coordinate with auditors for annual audits and internal controls.
• Manage treasury activities: daily cash, forecasting, bank relationships.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variances.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff.
• Contribute to financial strategy and process improvements.
