Job summary

SEH is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our employee-owned finance team. You will lead all accounting operations, oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, and partner with the Controller on financial strategy.

This is a remote role that enables influence across the organization. We value CPA credentials, GAAP expertise, and hands-on leadership of treasury, audits, reporting, budgeting, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• CPA certification (Active or Inactive) is preferred.
• Experience as Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller.
• Experience with annual financial statement audits.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and internal controls.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel; ability to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations including monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors.
• Manage treasury activities including cash positioning and forecasting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Prepare financial statements and variance analyses.
• Collaborate with leadership on budgeting and cost management.
• Develop and mentor accounting staff.
• Support strategic financial initiatives with senior leadership.
