Job summary

SEH, an employee-owned engineering, architectural, planning, and environmental firm, seeks an Assistant Controller to lead accounting operations and support annual audits. This remote opportunity offers collaboration with senior leadership, involvement in financial strategy, and ongoing process improvements for a nationwide US footprint.

Base compensation ranges from $110,000 to $140,000, with a focus on governance, treasury oversight, and staff development, while ensuring compliance with GAAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA certification (Active or Inactive)
• Broad end-to-end accounting operations experience

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Evaluate emerging accounting standards and regulatory changes and advise leadership
• Manage external auditors for audits, controls, and improvements
• Oversee treasury activities including daily cash positioning and forecasting
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost management with operations
• Lead and mentor accounting staff
• Collaborate with Controller on financial strategy and process improvements
• Remote role open to candidates in majority of US states and relocation possible if highlighted in application
