Job summary

SEH is an employee-owned engineering, architectural, planning, and environmental firm with a legacy since 1927. As Assistant Controller, you will lead all accounting operations, support the annual audit, and partner with the Controller and senior leadership on financial strategy and reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
CPA certification (active or inactive) is preferred/required.
Experience as Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or Controller.
Experience in annual financial statement audits.
Broad end-to-end accounting operations knowledge (AP, AR, treasury, audits, close, reporting).
Strong GAAP knowledge.
Ability to manage and develop accounting teams.
ERP and Excel proficiency with process-improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

Lead all accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely financial reporting.
Proactively evaluate accounting standards and regulatory changes and advise leadership on impacts.
Build and maintain relationships with external auditors to support audits and controls.
Manage treasury activities including daily cash positioning and forecasting.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and policies.
Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
Partner with operations and leadership for budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff.
Collaborate with Controller on financial strategy and process improvement.
