Job summary

GAF Remote, US is seeking an Asphalt Process Excellence Manager to lead multi-plant process improvements across asphalt yards, including oxidizing and non-oxidizing facilities. This role provides technical process support to manufacturing and supply chain to drive safety, efficiency, productivity, and cost reductions across internal and third‑party operations.

You will work with Corporate Engineering, Operations, Plant personnel, R&D, QA, Third-Party Oxidizers, and Supply Chain to deploy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years process engineering across multiple locations.
• Supervisory or project management experience.
• Experience with continuous web machine operation or design.
• Knowledge of roofing process and ASTM Roofing Codes.
• Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Advanced organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong cross-functional influence and leadership in data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Define, document, and implement standards and best practices across plants.
• Drive cross-plant knowledge sharing and troubleshooting to improve performance.
• Identify cost savings and efficiency improvements; reduce downtime and scrap.
• Serve as primary contact for process and equipment experts to set standards.
• Collaborate with Corporate and plant teams to adopt new technologies.
• Participate in HAZOP and lead safety-related process changes.
• Provide expertise, assign leads, and address quality issues.
• Apply structured problem solving and tools (SPC, 5-Whys, A3, etc.).
• Set team priorities using metrics and data analytics.
• Lead change management and foster continuous improvement culture.
• Coach and mentor teams to build bench strength.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
