Job summary

ABB is seeking an Application Engineering Manager for Electrification Services to lead the U.S. AE organization in support of Commercial Operations and Sales.

You will drive technical solutions through customer engagement, ensure quality SOWs and JCEs, and build a high-performing team capable of supporting growth objectives. This remote role reports to the EL Sales Support Manager - Commercial Operations and collaborates with Proposal Management, Business Development, and other ABB engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required and 12+ years relevant work experience.
• Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
• Willingness to travel 25% within US.
• 7+ years in application/field engineering in power delivery and related sectors.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed technical teams.
• Experience with proposal development, SOW creation, job costing, and commercial operations processes.
• Background in field service, power systems engineering, or industrial electrical services.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing Application Engineering team by setting expectations, coaching, closing skill gaps, and implementing development plans.
• Provide technical leadership and customer solution support across the ELSE portfolio, including site assessments and solution development.
• Drive proposal excellence by ensuring high-quality SOWs and JCEs, and improve inquiry-to-order processes.
• Standardize and improve engineering processes via KPI management, libraries, digital tools, and comprehensive technical training programs.
