Job summary

Groundswell is seeking an Appian Business Analyst to partner with Appian product teams and potentially engage customers to gather requirements for Appian applications.

The role involves discovery, data modeling, process improvement, user story authoring, and collaboration with product managers and architects to shape the roadmap. This is a remote position with East Coast hours; federal clearance may be required for certain projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, IT or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in performing business analysis and refining requirements for information systems.
• Strong communication at all levels of an organization.
• Detail oriented with multiple products experience.
• Experience with use cases, Agile user stories, and process modeling.
• This position is remote with ability to work east coast hours as needed.
• US citizenship required for federal government security clearance if needed.

Responsibilities

• Support Product Dev Managers in defining MVP and release plans.
• Conduct requirement discovery, data modeling, process improvement and BPM design.
• Conduct discovery workshops with customer stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product managers and architects to define requirements and functionality.
• Prioritize features within the product roadmap.
• Deliver and maintain user engagement analytics and case studies.
• Author user stories with detailed acceptance criteria.
• Refine requirements based on user engagements, sprints, and demos.
• Prepare estimates for the product backlog.
• Conduct review and acceptance of implemented user stories.
• Identify risks and opportunities for process improvement.
• Design complex data models based on application requirements.
• Use tools like TFS, Jira and Github for project management.
