Job summary

Groundswell is seeking an Appian Business Analyst to partner with Appian product teams and engage customers to generate Appian-specific requirements. The role involves discovery, data modeling, process design, and collaboration with product managers and architects to define requirements and roadmaps.

The candidate will craft user stories with detailed acceptance criteria, support MVP definitions, and help prioritize features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, IT or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in performing business analysis and refining requirements for information systems.
• Strong communication at all levels of an organization (written and verbal).
• Detail oriented with experience working on several products at one time.
• Experience with use cases, Agile user stories, and process modeling.
• This position is remote with ability to work east coast hours as needed.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required federal government security clearance if needed. US citizenship required for clearance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Support Product Dev Managers in defining MVPs and release plans.
• Conduct requirement discovery, data modeling, process improvement/reengineering analysis, design.
• Conduct discovery workshops with customer stakeholders to collect solution requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Dev Managers and tech stakeholders to define new/augmented requirements.
• Prioritize feature enablers in the product roadmap.
• Deliver and maintain user engagement analytics and support case studies.
• Author user stories with detailed acceptance criteria for developers/QA.
• Work with teams to provide answers and direction on work items and enablers.
• Consult Product Dev Managers for guidance on product vision and roadmap.
• Define sprint plan based on priority within the product vision.
• Refine requirements from user engagements, sprint demos and feedback.
• Prepare estimates for user stories in the backlog.
• Conduct formal review and acceptance of user stories.
• Identify risks and escalate when necessary.
• Identify process improvements and suggest solutions.
• Design and implement complex data models for customer applications.
• Use tools like TFS, Jira, and Github for project management responsibilities.
