Job summary

Groundswell is hiring an Appian Business Analyst to partner with product teams and customer stakeholders to gather app requirements. You will define MVPs, model data, and design processes while collaborating with architects to shape the roadmap.

This remote role supports East Coast hours and requires federal clearance eligibility. Ideal candidates have 5+ years BA experience, strong communication, and at least 1 year with Appian.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in performing business analysis and refining requirements for information systems.
• Strong communication at all levels of an organization (written and verbal)
• Detail oriented with experience working on several products at one time
• Experience working with use cases, Agile user stories, and process modeling.
• This position is remote with ability to work east coast hours as needed
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required federal government security clearance if needed. US citizenship required for clearance purposes.
• 1+ years of hands-on Appian solution implementation experience

Responsibilities

• Support Product Dev Managers in defining MVP and release plans.
• Conduct requirement discovery, data modeling, process improvement/reengineering analysis, process design, and BPM models.
• Conduct discovery workshops with customer stakeholders to collect and document requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Dev Managers and technology stakeholders to define new/enhanced product requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Dev Managers to support prioritization of feature enablers within the roadmap.
• Deliver and maintain user engagement analytics for characterizing users and supporting case studies.
• Author user stories with acceptance criteria for developers and QA.
• Work with teams to provide answers, feedback and direction on work items and stories.
• Consult Product Dev Managers for guidance on product vision and roadmap.
• Prepare sprint plans and refine requirements based on user input and demos.
• Collaborate to prepare estimates for backlog items.
• Conduct formal review and acceptance of user stories.
• Identify, track and manage risks; escalate when necessary.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.
• Design and implement complex data models based on requirements.
• Use TFS, Jira and Github for project management responsibilities.
