Job summary

SMX seeks a Mid-Level Site Reliability Engineer to architect, automate, and operate cloud infrastructure for AI/ML platforms. You will bridge MLOps and DevSecOps across various cloud environments while serving as a customer-facing SME.

This fully remote role is open to candidates nationwide in the United States and emphasizes hands-on platform engineering, Kubernetes, Terraform, and secure CI/CD practices to support scalable AI workloads.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years in SRE/DevOps/Platform Engineering.
• Strong Kubernetes and container security knowledge.
• Experience with major cloud platforms and IaC tooling.
• Ability to communicate complex infra concepts to customers.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain highly available Kubernetes clusters for AI/ML workloads.
• Engage with customer stakeholders as SME, presenting solutions and scoping work.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to validate and demonstrate modern architectures.
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform; enforce security guardrails from day one.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with vulnerability scans, audit logs, and artifact tracking.
• Monitor platform performance; participate in on-call and post-mortems.
• Enforce network segmentation, data isolation, and encryption across pipelines.
• Produce client-ready docs, reference architectures, and runbooks.
