UnitedHealth Group's Optum Insight is seeking a Coder III to apply diagnostic and procedural codes to patient records across Same Day Surgery, IVR, CIVR and Observation admissions. You will verify data for outcome management and claims processing, review documentation, and query physicians when needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of AHIMA or APPC accredited coding certification program with core courses.
• Current coding credentials from AHIMA or AAPC (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC).
• 2+ years in Same Day Surgery, IVR, CVIR (specialty) or Observation coding.
• 2+ years ICD-10 coding experience and ability to use Windows PC and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes for diagnoses, treatments and procedures per guidelines.
• Review provider documentation and query physicians when needed.
• Enter information into encoder/abstracting systems and ensure KPI targets.
• Adhere to AHIMA standards and official coding guidelines.
• Support charge validation and OSHPD corrections as assigned.
