Job summary

Alchemy is seeking a remote Accounts Payable Accountant to join our Finance team. You will own daily AP activities, including invoice coding, timely payments, vendor support, and reconciliations, with occasional travel to our San Francisco HQ.

You’ll work across Zip, NetSuite, and Ramp and help streamline procure-to-pay processes. You’ll collaborate with Accounting and cross-functional partners, ensuring accuracy, controls, and timely closes.

Qualifications

• >2–4 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting operations role.
• >Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including lookups and pivot tables.
• >Curiosity about how processes work and initiative to improve them.
• >Understanding of invoice coding, PO matching, payments terms, and basic accruals.
• >Experience with ERP systems and learning new P2P, payment, and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage the AP inbox, process invoices and requests, act as primary vendor contact.
• Review, enter, code, and classify invoices in Zip and NetSuite with proper approvals.
• Prepare payment batches, monitor deadlines, and follow up on approvals.
• Support vendor onboarding and maintain vendor records (tax forms, addresses, payment terms).
• Investigate discrepancies, duplicates, and payment issues; escalate when needed.
• Review employee expenses in Ramp for proper coding, approvals, and policy compliance.
• Reconcile AP with the general ledger and investigate differences.
• Support month-end close and prepare supporting schedules for Accounting.
• Maintain vendor tax docs (W-9s) and assist with 1099 prep.
• Follow controls for vendor banking changes and maintain records for audits.
• Support system updates, workflow improvements, and FP&A projects.
