Charter Impact is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to join a remote-first team serving mission-driven organizations nationwide. You will handle vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, maintain accurate ledgers, and support year-end processes.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree in business/accounting or related field.
• Accounts payable experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of financial record-keeping and accrual accounting basics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent English usage and grammar.
• Ability to perform arithmetic and prepare financial reports accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounts payable duties with accuracy and timeliness to maintain vendor relations.
• Verify availability of cash and perform payment selections.
• Enter data and code invoices for multiple entities.
• Generate accounts payable aging reports and share with clients as needed.
• Notify clients of vendor discrepancies and follow up.
• Respond to inquiries and discrepancies from clients and entities via email and phone.
• Prepare use tax reports and submit to the Accounts Payable Analyst.
• Assist in special projects and year-end audit schedule preparation.
• Focus on process improvement and efficiency for clients using latest industry developments.
