Job summary

Thrive is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team on a temporary basis. Reporting to the AP Manager, this role owns key parts of the AP cycle, from vendor onboarding and tax compliance through invoice processing, prepaid and fixed asset accounting, and month-end close support.

This is a full-time temporary assignment (approximately 3 months) with potential to extend or convert to permanent.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting in a multi-entity or high-growth environment.
• Ability to ramp up quickly in an existing AP function with limited onboarding.
• Availability to commit to the full duration of the temporary assignment.
• Working knowledge of prepaid amortization, fixed asset capitalization, and basic accrual accounting.
• Familiarity with Form W-9 requirements and 1099 reporting (1099-NEC/1099-MISC).
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and/or Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of ownership and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and on schedule.
• Partner with department leaders to obtain timely invoice approvals and resolve discrepancies.
• Validate deferral and amortization schedules for prepaid expenses.
• Set up and record new fixed assets.
• Support new vendor onboarding and 1099 reporting.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances.
• Maintain accurate vendor master data and organized records.
• Assist with month-end close and AP accruals.
