Job summary

Thrive, based in the United States, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support our Finance team on a 3-month W-2 temporary basis, with potential extension. This role handles vendor onboarding, invoice processing, prepaid and fixed asset accounting, and month-end close support, working remotely during core US hours.

You will collaborate with department leaders, maintain accurate vendor data, and assist with 1099 reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Experience with prepaid amortization and fixed asset capitalization.
• Knowledge of W-9 and 1099 reporting.
• Experience in a multi-entity or high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and on schedule.
• Partner with department leaders to obtain timely invoice approvals.
• Validate deferral and amortization schedules for prepaid expenses.
• Set up and record new fixed assets.
• Support vendor onboarding and W-9 verification in the ERP.
• Assist with year-end 1099 reporting and filings.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor master data and records.
• Assist with month-end close and AP accruals.
• Support internal controls and external audits.
• Build relationships with vendors and internal teams to improve AP processes.
