Job summary

Good Operator is hiring an Accounting Manager to lead a client pod of 1–2 offshore bookkeepers and act as the trusted financial partner for founder-led businesses. You will own client relationships, supervise day-to-day accounting, and translate numbers into actionable insights.

The role collaborates with offshore staff and internal leadership in a fully remote, high-ownership environment. You’ll build budgets, forecasts, KPI dashboards, and ensure GAAP-compliant financials while driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting/finance.
• 3–5 years in end-to-end accounting for US SMBs or startups.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines independently.
• Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Google Workspace and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead an accounting pod with 1–2 offshore bookkeepers.
• Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping (A/R, A/P, payroll, GL, reconciliations).
• Review work for accuracy and GAAP consistency.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements.
• Summarize results, explain variances, and highlight trends.
• Lead month-end client meetings and respond to ad hoc requests.
• Serve as primary contact for client pod and translate financials for non-financial stakeholders.
