Job summary

Lumalight, a provider in benefits administration and compliance, seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accuracy, and support monthly and annual reporting. This role includes mentoring a small accounting team and driving internal controls and process improvements.

The ideal candidate has strong GAAP knowledge, prior public accounting or audit exposure, and advanced Excel skills to manage complex financial data and analyses across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Public accounting or audit experience is preferred.
• Experience supporting a multi-state or professional services organization.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Record and approve accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee month-end close and support financial reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a small accounting team.
• Assist with annual audits, tax returns, and other compliance tasks.
• Document processes and implement improvements to controls.
