Job summary

Embedded Shishya is seeking an Accounting Assistant for a long-term remote role to support the finance team with accurate data entry, transaction processing, and administrative accounting tasks. The position offers a stable remote opportunity in a U.S.-based setting.

You will primarily enter financial information, process invoices and payments, maintain records, and assist with day-to-day accounting tasks. Fluency in English and Spanish is essential for coordination with U.S.

Qualifications

• Must have 2–5 years of experience as accounting assistant, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or data entry in accounting.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Experience entering accounting transactions with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable processes.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (sorting, filtering, formulas, data organization).
• Experience supporting a U.S.-based accounting or finance team.

Responsibilities

• Enter Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions accurately into the accounting system.
• Process invoices, vendor bills, customer payments, and credit memos.
• Assist with invoice matching and supporting documentation.
• Maintain organized electronic accounting records and filing systems.
• Update spreadsheets and reconcile transaction listings with supporting documents.
• Assist with basic bank and account reconciliations by preparing supporting information.
• Review transactions for completeness and flag missing or inconsistent information.
• Support month-end activities by preparing schedules and gathering required documentation.
• Communicate with U.S. team members in English and Mexican stakeholders in Spanish regarding routine accounting matters.
• Follow established accounting procedures and maintain accuracy while working within the client's remote desktop environment.
• Perform other administrative and data entry tasks to support the finance team.
