Job summary

HireHawk is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant for a remote role supporting the finance team. The position focuses on data entry, transaction processing, and administrative accounting tasks in a stable remote setting.

You will work with U.S. team members in English and Mexican stakeholders in Spanish, handling invoices, reconciliations, and month-end support while maintaining organized records and following established procedures.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience as accounting assistant, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or accounting data entry role.
• Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• Experience entering accounting transactions with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable processes.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (sorting, filtering, formulas, and data organization).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work accurately with large volumes of data.
• Experience supporting a U.S.-based accounting or finance team.

Responsibilities

• Enter Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions accurately into the accounting system.
• Process invoices, vendor bills, customer payments, and credit memos.
• Assist with invoice matching and supporting documentation.
• Maintain organized electronic accounting records and filing systems.
• Update spreadsheets and reconcile transaction listings with supporting documents.
• Assist with basic bank and account reconciliations by preparing supporting information.
• Review transactions for completeness and flag missing or inconsistent information.
• Support month-end activities by preparing schedules and gathering required documentation.
• Communicate with U.S. team members in English and Mexican stakeholders in Spanish regarding routine accounting matters.
• Follow established accounting procedures and maintain accuracy while working within the client''s remote desktop environment.
• Perform other administrative and data entry tasks to support the finance team.
