Job summary

Crisis Connections is seeking a dedicated 988 Crisis Intervention Specialist to provide real-time support for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline via phone, chat, and text. This full-time role operates on 12am–8am shifts and requires a Bachelor’s degree and AAC credential by probation end.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field.
• Knowledge of King County public mental health system preferred.
• Ability to work in high-acuity, fast-moving environment.
• Strong communication skills across multiple technology platforms.
• Collaborative mindset with commitment to compassionate care.
• AAC credential required by end of probation; cost reimbursed by Crisis Connections.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical guidance, consultation, and debriefing to Crisis Specialists during active contacts.
• Support responses across phone, chat, and text platforms.
• Partner with clinicians and supervisors on high-acuity and complex situations.
• Review and complete documentation to ensure quality and compliance.
• Contribute to onboarding, coaching, and skill-building for new team members.
• Assist with queue coverage to help reduce wait times when needed.
• Participate in trainings, meetings, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
