Job summary

Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn and administer 401(k) plans, review client documents, and report on government filings. The role emphasizes accelerated learning, hands-on training, and growing into administering basic plans.

You will work with clients nationwide from a home office, using Excel and specialized software to ensure accurate testing and reporting, while guiding clients through the year-end process.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing as daily job responsibilities.
• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience in one or more of the following areas: benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax prep processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance or quality-control support.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy
• Reconcile plans with only rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and 401(k) plan documents
