Guidant Financial is hiring a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to manage the end-to-end process of administering 401(k) plans from a home office. You will review documents, perform testing, and assist with year-end filings, guiding clients through IRS/5500 requirements.

The role emphasizes fast learning, accuracy, and proactive client communication, with strong Excel/Word/Outlook skills and a background in retirement-plan operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing in a daily role.
• 1–5 years in adjacent back-office financial operations such as benefits or tax processing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience (401(k) or IRA) is preferred.
• Experience with reconciliation as part of daily duties is preferred.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business/finance or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information needed for annual reporting.
• Review client documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software for rollovers and stock.
• Use administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
• Make reminder calls and emails to clients during plan year reporting.
• Prepare 401(k) government filings, including IRS Form 5500, with filing software.
• Educate clients on 401(k) plan administration and documents.
• Share knowledge and explain complex topics simply.
• Participate in training for Retirement Plan Administrator I.
