Job summary

Guidant Financial is seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn and administer 401(k) plans. You will review documents, assist with year‑end reporting, and help clients understand government filings, including the 5500.

Ideal candidates have 1–5 years in financial operations, strong Excel skills, and a background in retirement-plan administration, with remote work capability and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience (benefits, money movement, tax prep processing, or compliance)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience (401(k) or IRA administration, recordkeeping, year-end reporting)
• Experience with reconciliation as part of daily job responsibilities
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business or finance or equivalent work experience
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain information to prepare annual reporting
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy
• Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software
• Complete 401(k) testing and reporting with administration software
• Prepare government filings including IRS Form 5500
• Educate clients about 401(k) plan administration
