Layton Construction seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, management, and execution of assigned construction projects. May handle multiple projects, ensuring quality, profitability, and owner satisfaction.

The role involves coordinating with the project team, preparing schedules, budgets, and subcontractor agreements, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field; equivalent education/experience.
• 3+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects; light industrial and/or cold storage preferred.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; effective with owners and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of building codes and blueprints; capable of reading and interpreting plans.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing estimates, budgets, and cost reports.
• Organizes pre-construction planning and coordinates subcontract negotiations.
• Develops project schedules and milestones with the Project Superintendent.
• Manages procurement, payments, lien releases, and cost controls.
• Maintains owner relationships and coordinates final close-out procedures.
