Job summary

Layton Construction seeks an Assistant Project Manager to assist in planning, managing, and executing work on assigned construction projects. This role may handle multiple projects, ensuring quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction while supporting the project team with schedules, budgets, and subcontract coordination.

Relocation to the project site is required as specified, and candidate will work to uphold Layton's standards of ethics and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication; negotiation skills.
• Reads blueprints and understands building codes.
• Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing estimates, project budgets, and cost reports.
• Organizes pre-construction planning meetings and supports subcontract negotiations.
• Develops project management plans and schedules with the project team.
