Job summary

Layton Construction seeks an Assistant Project Manager to assist in planning, managing, and executing assigned construction projects. This role may oversee multiple projects to meet quality, owner expectations, and profitability while fostering strong customer relationships.

You will participate in developing schedules, budgets, and plans, support permit processes, and coordinate with the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, preferably light industrial/cold storage.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of construction laws, codes, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, management, and execution of construction projects.
• Coordinate with project team and stakeholders to meet timelines.
• Prepare budgets, estimates, and project schedules.
• Review plans and specifications for completeness and consistency.
• Support in obtaining permits and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain owner relationships and ensure contract terms are met.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate subcontracts.
• Ensure safety, quality, and risk management plans are followed.
