Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to build and nurture relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers. You’ll sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage projects after sale, and keep customers informed on usage and trends.

Role requires field presence, strong communication, and the ability to read blueprints. Salary plus commission with uncapped earning potential.

Qualifications

• Experience in building material sales is required.
• Knowledge of home building basics is required.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Able to read blueprints and provide material take off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Sell and manage projects for our full line of building materials and installed services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, builders and remodelers.
• Visit job sites as needed and manage post-sale activities.
