Hylant in Philadelphia is seeking a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to support the evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and relationships with reinsurers. The role emphasizes compliance with company policies and accurate claim settlements.

You will generate insightful reinsurance reports and analyses to support informed decision-making, collaborate with internal teams, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of experience in reinsurance accounting or a similar financial area.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook, Teams.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings and events.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical, financial accounting of premium, claim and reserves based on statement of accounts or bordereaux.
• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts for policy adherence.
• Manage processing and settlement of reinsurance claims with accuracy and efficiency.
• Generate reinsurance reports and analyses to support decision-making.
• Consult internal stakeholders on Statutory and Reinsurance Accounting guidance.
• Develop and maintain relationships with reinsurers.
