Job summary

Hylant in Pennsylvania seeks a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to support evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and relationships with reinsurers. You will prepare technical, financial accounting of premiums, claims, and reserves based on statements of accounts or bordereaux.

Responsibilities include reviewing contracts for policy adherence, processing settlements, generating reports, and advising internal stakeholders on statutory and reinsurance accounting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting or a similar financial area.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Fluent English with strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel by car or plane for meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts for adherence to policies.
• Manage processing and settlement of reinsurance claims accurately and efficiently.
• Generate reinsurance reports and perform analyses to support decisions.
• Advise internal stakeholders on statutory and reinsurance accounting guidance.
• Drive process improvements and standardization; identify inefficiencies.
• Attend training to maintain knowledge of systems, processes, and changes.
• Maintain up-to-date SOPs and training guides with Captive Account Executives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
