Job summary

DSHS DVR Rehabilitation Technician 1 supports people with disabilities toward meaningful employment and serves as the first point of contact for applicants. The role provides paraprofessional support to DVR Counselors while handling front desk responsibilities, orientations, eligibility preparation, and coordination with vendors and service providers.

New applications are entered into the Case Management System within five days, and the technician assists in developing Individual Plans for

Qualifications

• Two years of college-level coursework AND at least one year of experience providing direct customer service in a non-retail setting.
• Strong front desk and receptionist capabilities, with multi-line phone handling and lobby management.

Responsibilities

• Provide paraprofessional and technical support to DVR Counselors and staff.
• Serve as first line of contact for applicants, handling intake, orientations, and eligibility prep.
• Enter new applications into the Case Management System within five days of sign-up.
• Assist with development of the Individual Plan for Employment and vendor coordination.
• Monitor progress toward employment goals and maintain regular customer contact.
• Schedule interpreters, service providers, and VRC meetings.
• Assist in case movement: collect information for eligibility within 30 days; monitor AFPs; finalize case records.
