Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) DVR is seeking a Rehabilitation Technician 1 in Puyallup, WA to support people with disabilities as they pursue meaningful employment.

The role provides paraprofessional support to Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, coordinates customer service, orientations, eligibility information, and daily operations. It is an excellent fit for someone who enjoys a blend of front-line help and behind-the-scenes coordination.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework and at least one year of direct customer service experience in a non-retail setting.
• A combination of education and relevant experience totaling at least three years that demonstrates the ability to perform the work.

Responsabilités

• Provide front desk and office support, greet participants, answer multi-line phones, manage lobby sign-ins, and monitor referral/fax inboxes.
• Explain DVR programs, services, and eligibility requirements to prospective participants.
• Enter new DVR service applications into the Case Management System within five days of signing.
• Assist VRCs and participants in gathering information for Employment Plans, including contacting vendors and obtaining quotes.
• Track participant progress, document skill gains/credentials, identify unmet needs, maintain contact, and reinforce next steps towards employment goals.
• Coordinate appointments with interpreters, providers, participants, and VRCs; track milestones and collect eligibility documents within 30 days.
• Monitor AFPs for expiration, coordinate with VRCs on cancellations/reissuance, review case records before closure for documentation and payments.
• Identify potential community vendors and explain service provider registration requirements.
• Prepare and process AFPs or payments for goods/services within five days of request or invoice.
• Prepare correspondence for participants, vendors, and other stakeholders.
