Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist at Mercy Hospital St. Louis for night shifts (7 pm–7:30 am). You will perform direct patient care per physician orders, consult on therapy effectiveness, and support physicians and nursing staff as an advanced resource.

Eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000. This role requires a CoARC-approved respiratory care program graduate, RCP license, and NBRC RRT credential; ACLS preferred, minimal physical demands.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by NBRC.
• PALS required for ER coworkers.
• ACLS preferred.
• Critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care as ordered by physicians.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy; acts as advanced resource person for physicians and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoArc-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
• Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
