Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis delivers direct patient care in the respiratory care department under physician orders. Our team consults with physicians on therapy effectiveness and serves as an advanced resource for nurses and doctors.

Night shifts run from 7 pm to 7:30 am with shift differential eligibility. We offer a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 and a strong benefits package, including health, vision, and dental coverage, PTO, tuition reimbursement, and employer-matched retirement funds.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a COARC-approved respiratory care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license as per state requirements.
• RRT credential from NBRC is required.
• PALS certification for ER coworkers where applicable.
• ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care as ordered by physicians.
• Consult with physicians regarding effectiveness of therapy.
• Act as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff in respiratory care.
• Perform duties as assigned.

Shift:

Nightshift 7 pm - 7:30 AM

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoArc-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
• Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
