Job summary

Ascension is seeking a School Nurse in Carmel, IN to deliver compassionate care in a school clinic, manage chronic-condition health plans, and coordinate care with families, teachers, and healthcare providers. You will administer medications, maintain confidential records, and lead wellness screenings to support student health and learning.

The role requires an RN license with BLS, a nursing diploma, and at least two years of nursing experience.

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire.
• Registered Nurse credential required before hire date.

• Manage individual student health plans for chronic conditions (like asthma, allergies, or diabetes) to ensure seamless, safe support throughout the school day.
• Coordinate care between families, teachers, and healthcare providers to serve as the vital link supporting each child's physical and emotional well-being.
• Administer and track daily medications and physician-ordered treatments with absolute accuracy, maintaining rigorous, confidential health records.
• Lead school-wide wellness and safety screenings to proactively identify student health needs and foster a thriving, healthy learning environment.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
