Job summary

The Laurels of Steubenville is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our leadership team as Unit Manager. This role plans, coordinates, and oversees nursing care and health education for our residents.

You will supervise RNs, LPNs, STNAs, implement nursing procedures, and participate in assessments and care planning to ensure high-quality resident care. A CPR certification and geriatric nursing leadership experience are preferred. We offer benefits and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification is required.
• Experience in management or supervision in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing care provided by RNs, LPNs, STNAs and others.
• Review and implement nursing procedures and systems.
• Assess and evaluate systems for quality guest care and staff performance.
• Apply nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.
• Contribute to guest assessments (MDS/CAA) and care plans.
• Evaluate guests’ responses to nursing interventions.
• Understand and correctly administer medications and treatments as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises nursing care provided by Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), State-Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA) and others.
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality guest care and performance of staff.
• Uses a systematic approach in the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.
• Contributes to the guest assessments (MDS/CAA’s) and the development and implementation of a plan of care.
• Evaluates guests’ responses to nursing interventions.
• Understands the rational for the use of medications and treatments and correctly administers as needed.

Qualifications:

• Current CPR certification and additional certification in a nursing specialty desired.
• Management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred.
