Job summary

The Laurels of Gahanna in Columbus, OH is seeking an RN Unit Manager to lead and teach skilled nursing staff in a day shift with on-call. The role plans, coordinates and manages nursing care and health education for residents in a skilled nursing facility.

You will supervise RNs, LPNs, STNAs, and other staff; ensure nursing procedures are followed; and contribute to assessments and care plans. Leadership and teaching in a geriatric setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Current state RN licensure required.
• Current CPR certification; additional nursing specialty certification desired.
• Management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by RNs, LPNs, STNAs and others.
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates systems that facilitate quality guest care and staff performance.
• Uses a systematic nursing process to provide individualized care.
• Contributes to guest assessments (MDS/CAA’s) and the plan of care.
• Evaluates guests’ responses to nursing interventions.
• Understands rationale for medications and administers as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises nursing care provided by Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), State-Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA) and others.
• Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.
• Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality guest care and performance of staff.
• Uses a systematic approach in the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.
• Contributes to the guest assessments (MDS/CAA’s) and the development and implementation of a plan of care.
• Evaluates guests’ responses to nursing interventions.
• Understands the rational for the use of medications and treatments and correctly administers as needed.

Qualifications:
